Watched this film today with 2 friends who had been DYING to watch this film today…
Based on the cartoon series which is also called Blood: The last Vampire, this film tells the events of a demon hunter called Saya as she goes around Japan slicing and dicing Demons that have taken on human form in a war that has been going on since the 15th century’ish.
Ok that’s enough about the film, here comes the most important part of the entry, my opinions on the film…
Ok, right, ahem, this film is utter balls. Seriously, wtf? Firstly, the title doesn’t even make sense: There are no vampires in this film only demons meaning it should really be called Blood: The Last Demon!
Next, how big was the budget on this film? A tenner? Seriously, some of the CG effects used were a load of crap. Looks as though some kid did it in their bedroom on a freeware software programme as a hobby during the summer. Like wth? Films from 20 years ago looked better than it!!!
Is the cartoon this confusing? I mean I don’t want to spoil the storyline for anyone (though I am really tempted to just so less people pay to watch this rubbish – IN FACT I THINK I WILL) but how can your dad be a demon slayer and then marry your mom who is a demon and HAVE A CHILD with her. Seriously wtf?
The sick love relationship between her parents gets worse, not only do they marry but the mom kills the dad as the dad tries to slay her (prolly making love at the same time – somehow) and they both disappear after she is born but somehow she hates her mum when she finally meets her and not the dad……..The whole story doesn’t make sense at all. (Note: I’ve done many many exams, played many games and they were all easier than trying to understand this shit)
Also, the main actress girl has the worst english ever. What’s wrong with your english girl? There’s a reason why all these western people put stupid accents on us asians. CAUSE YOU ACTUALLY SPEAK LIKE THAT. Some of my friends actaully wished the film was in japanese and with the subtitles…
This film has been the worst film I have watched in the past decade. For real man, I’ve even seen MYSTERY MEN and BOWFINGER during these 10 years. You know what hurts me more though? The cinema that night was packed!!!!
Normally, people watch the show and then the film or get interested in the show from watching the film but this film has crippled my interest in the anime series…
